Good wine doesn't have to be so serious or stuffy. The team at Spicy Vines can attest to that. They are producing award-winning wines and are having fun doing it.
For Crystalyn Hoffman, Co-Founder and Managing Director or Spicy Vines, a serendipitous and fortuitous experience occurred during a trip to Germany. She was intrigued by a local tradition of sipping delicious, hot mulled wine with friends. Returning home, she wondered how such a wonderfully social custom had not translated to American culture, so she set out to make the introduction.
With some help from friends, Crystalyn founded Spicy Vines, a different kind of wine producer focused on making premium small production wine - while making it approachable, diverse and fun. While most of Spicy Vines wines are traditional bottlings, some are uniquely spiced and can be served directly from the bottle, mixed in a cocktail, or heated up to enjoy like the centuries old German custom with which Crystalyn fell in love.
A visit to Spicy Vines tasting room in the popular Healdsburg Square is an experience that will leave you with a smile and a newfound interest in how wine can translate from the simplicity of fermented grapes in a bottle.
As the folks at Spicy Vines say, spice up your world, "try something new, do something different and embrace life with a twist."
