Maroon Wines 2012 Reserve Chardonnay, Oak Knoll, Napa Valley
As the wine gently pours from the bottle, a bright golden color shows off through the glass. The aromas alone will make your mouth water, showcasing notes of tropical fruit, citrus, and candied apple. A sip brings everything together in an explosion of flavors: pear, lemon, and pineapple. The immediate flavors linger and settle to reveal additional flavors of vanilla, spice, and caramel. This wine has some oak aging, but is so well balanced it will absolutely bring back those who "avoid" Chardonnay.

About Oak Knoll District AVA:
Finding the sweet spot between Napa's warmer upper-valley appellations and the cooler Los Carneros region to the south, Oak Knoll District benefits from an ideal climate featuring consistent morning fog and cool nights. These moderating influences produce one of the longest growing seasons in the Napa Valley, allowing the grapes abundant time to develop bright, evocative flavors, while still maintaining refreshing acidity. In addition, Oak Knoll District benefits from ancient alluvial soils, which contribute to the expressive elegance of Maroon Wines.
