Loomis Family Vineyards 2012 "Ember" Red Blend
When looking for an everyday drinking wine, a good selection should be an easy drinking, fruit forward wine with mild to moderate tannins. It should drink well by itself and pair well with food. This is the perfect wine to have on hand and to pop open after a long day of work.
This Rhone-style red blend opens with aromas of juicy red fruit and vanilla spice. The mouth comes alive with fresh cherries, pomegranates, currants, spice, vanilla extract, black pepper and earth. The finish leaves long lasting flavors of Herbs de Provence.

About Loomis Family Vineyards:
Jeff Loomis, founder and vintner of Loomis Family Vineyards, doesn't like to be told no. When he purchased the majestic mountain property that would become his home and vineyard, he was told he couldn't grow Rhône varietals there. He's had a passion for Rhône wines ever since studying abroad and cycling through Chateauneuf du Pape in the South of France. That inspired his dream to make Rhône-style wines. Despite the opposition, he pushed forward, building his home and planting Syrah and Grenache, along with other Rhône varietals, on his ranch property. The attempt to make a Grenache wine for the first harvest didn't work out they way they'd planned, but was a blessing in disguise. They were forced to pivot and make rosé instead. Jeff reluctantly entered the wine in a rosé contest of over 300 wines. The rosé that was supposed to be a mistake made the top 20 list of best Provence-style rosés out of 174. They haven’t looked back, raising the bar and making great affordable Rhône-inspired wines year after year.
