Our customers' feedback and excitement for Coombsville wines is why we continue to seek them out. This region, being one of the newest AVA's in Napa, was once a prized secret location for so many producers sourcing fruit. Now on the radar, and home to so many amazing small wine producers just waiting to be discovered, our team is always enthusiastic to uncover wine gems from the Coombsville AVA.
This particular robust and dynamic estate Cabernet Sauvignon from Italics Winegrowers was a wine we spent a great deal of time with, tasting at intervals as it evolved and opened up. A beauty in the glass, this medium ruby colored wine gives off aromas of black cherry, blackberry jam, Earl Grey tea, violets and lavender. The palate is well structured with integrated tannins throughout. Fruit flavors of plum and blackberry are pronounced up front and lead the way to sandalwood, lavender, bakeshop spice and warm oak. This wine is built to last so acquire a few and taste over the next few years.

About the Winemaker:
After starting a pre-med program at UC Davis, shifting directions and taking a winemaking internship, Marbue Marke received his degrees and began his winemaking journey. Bringing with him experience from an impressive selection of Napa and Sonoma’s famed wineries - J Winery, Cosentino, Benzinger, and industry giant, EJ Gallo, Marbue was named Bonfort’s 2018 U.S. Winemaker of the Year for his modestly sized but impressive portfolio of hand-crafted boutique wines. If you ask him, the culmination of these experiences together lead him right where he was meant to be: crafting small lot, ultra-premium wine. He brings an extensive knowledge of Coombsville’ s unique terroir and a track record of producing a beautiful and a well-balanced portfolio of wines.
