Greyscale Wines 2014 Merlot, Napa Valley
This Right Bank Bordeaux-inspired wine slowly draws you in with teasing aromas of dark cherry, wild dark berry fruit, dried herbs, subtle notes of sweet vanilla oak and cinnamon spice and a faint touch of eucalyptus. On the palate, soft yet persistent tannins coat the tongue, with a touch of dark chocolate and a food-friendly acidity that compliments the consistent aromas on the finish. The wine evolves and further opens up the following day, drinking beautifully with rich, rounded and fully integrated aromas and flavors…if you somehow manage NOT to finish the bottle the night before :)
