Entrepreneur Wines 2013 Bacigalupi Chardonnay
This single vineyard wine is pretty spectacular, Angels. The Chardonnay grapes come from 65-year old vines – the same famed Bacigalupi Vineyard vines that provided fruit for the winning white wine in the 1976 Judgement of Paris!
Fruit and mineral-driven, this wine is far from the rich, buttery full-bodied style with which Chardonnay is frequently associated. At first glance you’ll notice its glimmering, delicate pale gold color. And ahhh, the layered aromas! Orange blossom and a chalky, stone minerality lead to subtle white peach and spiced pineapple. Teasing notes of soft vanilla caramel cream, sweet orange citrus and a touch of lemon zest enhance the aromatics. Texturally, it is dry and silky on the palate, with a softness balanced by a refreshing acidity and a long, enjoyable finish.
