Wineries & Stories
Cynthia Cosco founded Passaggio Wines in 2007. Her connection to the grape goes back generations to Old World Italian winemakers. As a child, she watched her grandfather make wine in the basement and wine was a part of every meal growing up in her Italian family.
Tonti Family Wines
It was a business deal that included Portuguese corks, of all things, that finally gave Peter Tonti the push he needed to follow a longtime dream. Peter's father was from the old country, and it was part of the Italian culture to make wine in the basement. Assisting in the winemaking process and being allowed to sip small amounts of wine as a child was the start of his dream to be just like dad.
Tamber Bey Vineyards
Tamber Bey Vineyards originally sold grapes to wineries including Barringer, Franciscan and Domaine Chandon. The winery now produces 14 different wines out of the 22 acre Sundance Ranch in Calistoga.
The legacy of Terra Valentine's wine program is a remarkable journey for not only the winery, but for the Baxter family as well. Phil Baxter graced these vineyards and put his fingerprint on the exquisite wines from the famed Spring Mountain AVA. In 2002 Sam Baxter took the helm from his father leading the fine wines of Terra Valentine to achieve a cult like status.
From Scotland to Sonoma, Winemaker Steve Law has had quite a journey. Steve Law’s love for wine began post-university when he moved from Scotland to France for a job in technology. Exploring various wine regions with his friends on the weekends, he discovered his palate and passion for wine, notably Sauvignon Blanc from Loire Valley, Pinot Noir from Burgundy, Rosé from Provence, and Viognier from Condrieu. However, it was Northern Rhone where he discovered Syrah... and his world changed.
