Wineries & Stories
Rahn Estate is a family owned and operated vineyard estate producing ultra-premium, limited production wines in the Howell Mountain AVA of Napa Valley.
Blue Rock Vineyard
Dating back to 1880, the 100-acre Blue Rock estate tells the story of how European winemaking came to Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley. Italian immigrants brought with them olive trees, vine cuttings, and knowledge of grape growing. The region’s undulating golden hills and idyllic vistas even look reminiscent of Tuscany itself.
As the current winemaker for David Arthur Vineyards and Montagna, Nile Zacherle has had wine in his blood from the start. He grew up making homemade wine by helping his father stomp grapes at age nine. Niles received his degree in Fermentation Science with a concentration in enology, viticulture and brewing sciences from the University of California-Davis where he originally enrolled to study beer fermentation.
William Cole Vineyards
Since he was a young boy growing up in Napa Valley and working his family winery, William Ballentine was destined to be a world-class winemaker. He feels connected to the vines and believes this craft is in his heart and soul. It could be argued wine is in his blood too since winemaking dates back generations in both his maternal and paternal lines. His sincere style and humble dedication to touching the wine from grape to bottle shows through in the quality and elegance that has made William Cole Vineyards so sought after. But it's William's devotion to those who drink the wine that sets him apart. His wine is made with the wine enthusiast in mind.
White Rock Vineyards
Situated in a small valley in the southern foothills of the Stag’s Leap Range, White Rock Vineyards’ family-run estate began making wine in the 1870’s. The winery is located underground in the caves that were bored in 1988, one of the first winery caves dug since the 1800’s. Volcanic ash soils, mature hillside vines, a cooler climate, varied exposures, and the caves make these wines complex and concentrated with a mineral character that expresses the earth itself.
