ABOUT THE WINES: Trujillo Wines
For three decades, the talented Michael Trujillo has been involved in all aspects of the wine business – from vineyard cultivation and irrigation digging, to cooperage selection and blending. One of the first winemakers to combine Rutherford valley fruit with the spicier, more intense mountain fruit, Michael is known for creating the “cult wine without the cult price”. Much of his fruit comes from some of the finest vineyards of the Rutherford, Howell Mountain and St. Helena AVAs, including Herb and Jennifer Lamb, Gary Morisoli and Bryan Henry. Courtesy of Michael, we were lucky to enough to secure a few special cases solely for our Wine Club Members. As with all of his "Madelyn" wines, Michael made this in tribute to his daughter, Sophia Madelyn Trujillo, noting, "this is a wine that expresses the joy I experience with her in my life". Think "Bordeaux blend", but with a bit of Petit Sirah in place of Cabernet Franc. A ruby red translucent robe, this is a youthful wine with a lot to discover as the wine opens up -- fresh blackberry fruit, red twizzlers, hazelnut up front. Dig a little deeper and you'll find hints of dried basil, vanilla, anise and cocoa...oh my! The medium-full palate is well balanced, with its rich, spicy dark fruit leading to an enjoy, lingering finish.

ABOUT THE WINE: Tonti Family Wines
Born out of a love of fine wines and delicious food, Tonti Family Wines is known for their award-winning Old Vine Zinfandels from the Russian River Valley. Founder Peter Tonti was inspired by his Italian father, who brought his love of winemaking with him from the old country – an old hand cranked press and a half dozen barrels lived in their basement! Today Peter makes wine in honor of his Father, who always made sure the family had “3 fingers” of wine with dinner each day. His strong vineyard partnership gives him access to an extraordinary patch of land on the Eastern edge of the beautiful Russian River Valley Appellation. Since launch, the wines have received great attention, garnering high scores and award-winning gold medals. Scroll down to watch our video interview with Founder Peter Tonti.
