2014 Inspiration Vineyards Harvest Report

The 2014 harvest is over and much like a baby would be tucked into their crib, all of our new wines have been put to bed in their respective barrels. However in this analogy, for the next several months, our babies change and mature while they sleep and no diaper changes will be required.

One one thousand. In the same amount of time it took to read that sentence, flames from the devastating wildfires in Northern California spread hundreds of feet. It is almost impossible to fathom how quickly the fire advanced across one of the most iconic wine regions in the world, annihilating everything in its path.

Sonoma County Vintage Report: 2015

Two words best summarize the 2015 vintage: EARLY & SHORT. When I reported on the 2014 vintage last year, I told you that since moving to Sonoma County in 2001, it was the earliest on record. During this past spring, I predicted that our harvest yields in 2015 would be less than in previous years thanks to our drought and drier than normal conditions during the months of January through March.
