Le Chanceux

Robert and Susan McNerney (a self-proclaimed francophile), moved to the Napa Valley and planted Cabernet Sauvignon vines on their estate property in 2002. Le Chanceux, pronounced luh shuhn sue, is rooted in family from the winery name, to the vineyard, and also to the wine itself. Le Chanceux means "The Lucky One"; a reminder to their three daughters, Lauren, Ellen and Jennifer, how lucky they were to be blessed to live in the beautiful Napa Valley, a destination where world class wines are produced. Similarly, the McNerney's named their vineyard Belles Filles Vineyard, or "Beautiful Daughters", in honor of their girls.

In 2006 they released the first vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon. It was a hit, winning a double gold medal. But tragedy struck the family in 2010 when Robert was diagnosed with an agressive cancer and passed away a short time later.

With great strength and the knowledge that she has a blessed life, Sue McNerney gave up her photography profession and threw herself into the business. What was once a well kept secret shared only with family and friends is now available to wine-loving enthusiasts.
