Tasting Notes:

Thanksgiving plans are in motion and we offer a perfect pairing for your turkey dinner. If you secured some of the Elkhorn Peak Cellars Pinot Noir featured earlier this year, then you know the quality Elkhorn Peak Cellars produces. To grace your table we suggest this RESERVE Pinot Noir, a selection of premium grapes from the best vineyard location on their property.

This lovely translucent red Pinot Noir is earth-driven on the nose, but backed up by intense red fruit. The palate is multifaceted as the flavors of bing cherry, rhubarb, raspberry, truffle, rose petal, caraway and sweet wood intermingle. The finish is impressively intense.

Although this wine is a true expression of its own place (what the French refer to as "terroir"), Jamieson Canyon, I couldn't help the nostalgia that crept in for some of the finest Burgundies.

General Food Pairing Suggestions:
Pinot Noir from a cool growing region like Jamieson Canyon in the southern part of Napa makes for an easy wine to pair with a wide range of dishes. Try it with duck, lamb, chicken and roasted turkey or salmon, lighter pasta dishes and white veggie pizza. Cheeses like Edam, Gouda, Gruyere, light Cheddars and Chèvre are excellent pairings. Fruit or nut based desserts are also good selections.
About the Winery
Elkhorn Peak Cellars While Napa Valley is typically known for its Cabernet Sauvignon, there’s a hidden gem called Elkhorn Peak – the oldest and most developed vineyard in the area – producing exceptional, small batch Pinot Noir. Learn more
