A Place to Bark
A PLACE TO BARK is a no kill foster and adoption rescue dedicated to the welfare of animals. Established in 2001 by Bernie Berlin, the organization works mainly with Animal Control Agencies to rescue animals from high kill shelters and foster them until they are healthy. They are then placed for adoption through Humane Societies in various parts of the country. A Place to Bark covers all costs for the medical care of the animals at no cost to the Humane Societies. They also handle some private adoptions after a strict screening process.
As a new shelter concept tackling an old problem, A Place to Bark is a temporary home, a foster facility, a full vet care, rehab & training center created to help adoptable animals move further in the adoption process. All animals rescued are spayed or neutered to reduce the future population.
A Place to Bark’s dedication is to create a program that could be the next step towards a “no kill” nation. By building bridges and networking together, their ultimate hope is to end the unnecessary killing of animals.
