Tasting Notes:

Grown on the Maroon Estate in the heart of the Coombsville District, this wine enjoys a slower and more even ripening due to cooler temperatures in the region.

The wine has rich, alluring aromas of dark fruit and balanced oak. On the palate, the wine is elegant, lively and nuanced with flavors of dark fruits and rich, creamy oak tones. The finish is long and lingering. It has the structure and length to age nicely. Decanting is recommended for at least an hour to unlock all of the rich aromas and flavors this wine has to offer. Its youth makes it a great wine to follow over the years. Buy multiples and open them over time to follow its evolution.

About the Vineyard:

The grapes for the 2011 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon were grown in Maroon Wines’ Hagen Road Estate, an area proving to be the perfect spot for growing Cabernet Sauvignon and creating wine that is complex, well balanced and elegant. This is partially attributed to the Coombsville AVA micro-climate. Its slightly cooler temperatures allow the grapes to hang longer than in other areas, giving them time to fully ripen before harvest.
