Guy Davis' wine roots run deep, reaching back to the age of nineteen when he worked in a French restaurant in Seattle while pursuing an economics degree at the University of Washington.
"The most memorable thing about those evenings was the wine," recalls Davis. "The restaurant owner and chef were Parisian expatriates. And during dinner they would school me on the "finer" points of French cuisine, the culinary lifestyle and, of course, the place of wine in a well-lived life."
Learn more about Guy's story on a live SIP virtual wine tasting on August 28, 2020.
Dutton Ranch
This Green Valley expression of Pinot Noir is grown for the Davis Family by the Dutton family, cornerstone growers in the Russian River Valley. Comprised of two neighboring blocks of Pommard and Dijon clones, half way between the coastline and Davis' own Estate Soul Patch Vineyard, nestled on a slope directly east of the Russian River’s transition to the Ocean. This is one of the coolest climate sites in the Russian River Valley – creating mouthwatering acidity, exotic aromas, and a complex fruit profile centered around the signature blueberry notes Green Valley is known for.
