About the Winemaker:
Vineyard:
The premium fruit comes from the Grey Palm Vineyard in the Dry Creek Valley, Cast's estate vineyard planted in 2000 primarily to Zinfandel. Following the traditional Italian method quite common in the region, a small block (just over 1 acre) was planted to Petite Sirah. The purpose of the traditional Italian field blend was to provide a blending grape that would add texture and color to the Zinfandel wines.
