This is a wine with which to embrace the terroir, or sense of place, as the French like to say. It is estate grown, produced and bottled one mile off of the Silverado Trail, east of Yountville on the south end of the Stag’s Leap Range. The vines enjoy east and west facing hilltops with white volcanic ash soils in a microclimate a few degrees cooler than the valley floor.
The color is deep and bold ruby in color, indicating the bold flavor profile of this vintage. The nose presents black plum, olive, graphite and oak; while the mouth gives way to bright berry notes of raspberry, strawberry and blackberry. A finish of black cherry and licorice with a balanced tannic structure make this a classic Napa Valley Cabernet.
