Tasting Notes:

Grapes for this wine come from prime real estate – the sustainably grown Lester Family Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains – where no herbicides are used. A transparent, light ruby red in color, this wine is all about finesse. On the nose, red fruit notes of red cherry and cranberry meld with vanilla and cinnamon bakeshop spice. Subtle savory, earthy notes lead to a palate of prominent acidity and a refreshing medium finish that carries through the spicy, red fruit and vanilla notes.

Pinot Noir – a wine frequently touted as ideal for a wide range of food pairings. Why? This grape produces wine with higher acidity that can help cut through the savory richness of many dishes. Its typically medium body will compliment, not overpower the dish either. Give it a whirl with roasted turkey, duck confit or a filet of beef au poivre. Vegetarian ideas include breaded mushrooms, roasted root vegetables and Porcini mushroom risotto. Try fruit-based sauces to compliment the red fruit notes in the wine. Doing a cheese tray?
