Tasting Notes:

When you start with high quality fruit, you are likely to have a premium product – especially when there’s a talented winemaker involved! Stephanie sourced the 2013 Cabernet grapes from Oak Canyon Ranch, a sustainable (organic and biodynamic), dry-farmed hillside vineyard in the Coombsville appellation.

A rich, dark cherry in color, this nearly opaque wine opens with a depth of aromas, led by blackberry pie, cinnamon and cola. A few more swirls leads to notes of vanilla, toasted oak, toffee and subtle hints of leather, dried herbs and hazelnuts with more time in the glass. The finish is full and spicy, with the perfect amount of tannins that bring a balance and smoothness to this young wine.  Only 5 cases are currently available at our special Cellar Angels pricing for charity – get them while you can.

About the Winery
Trotter 1/16 Winery With one goal in mind, Stephanie left her home and her family in Philadelphia and set out to California to pursue her dream of making wine. After years of working her way up from tasting rooms to cellar master to apprentice winemaker learning the trade, she produced her first vintage in 2011. It was a challenging year to make wine in Napa Valley. Cool weather and heavy rains were obstacles, insurmountable for some. Learn more
