Tasting Notes:

What is meritage? These are wines made in California but modeled after the famed wine region of Bordeaux, France, in that they use the same varietals. The Meritage Alliance is an organization that approves licensing to wineries requesting to use this distinction and place the term "Meritage" (pronounced like "Heritage") on their bottle.

Lush tannins and intense fruit flavors of black currant, blackberries, plums, and cocoa combine on the well-structured palate. Notes of coffee and boysenberry jam add to the complexity of this wine. Our Meritage is full, supple, and rich with a lengthy finish that will leave you lingering for more.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
Bold red blends deserve big, bold foods. Pair with beef, especially grilled, roasted or stewed, or braised dishes like lamb or venison. Game meats all pair wonderfully with this wine as do dishes with eggplant, mushrooms or pungent herbs. Also pair hard aromatic cheeses like Roquefort, Blue and Camembert varietals.
