The epitome of Old Vine, this luscious, mature Zinfandel is made from vines planted between 1900 and 1920 in the famed Russian River Valley! The Artisan Reserve is a representation of the winery's finest barrels, hand-selected for their intensity of fruit and exotic, spicy notes. Aged to perfection and ready to drink now, consider this the perfect wine for your first cookout of the year! A vivid, deep violet red color, the wine shows off aromas of spicy blueberry jam, fig and mature dark fruit preserves with subtle cedar notes complimented by a hint of chocolate. On the palate, dusty, soft tannins and balanced acidity integrate beautifully with flavors of fruit preserves, peppery spice, soft chocolate and cedar notes. We not only love what is inside the bottle - the gorgeous label is designed by Peter's daughter, Artist Kristy Tonti.

About the Winemaker:
Tonti Family Wines is known for their award-winning Old Vine Zinfandels from the Russian River Valley. Founder Peter Tonti was inspired by his Italian father, who brought his love of winemaking with him from the old country – an old hand cranked press and a half dozen barrels lived in their basement! Today Peter makes wine in honor of his Father, who always made sure the family had “3 fingers” of wine with dinner each day. His strong vineyard partnership gives him access to an extraordinary patch of land on the Eastern edge of the beautiful Russian River Valley Appellation. Since launch, the wines have received great attention, garnering high scores and award-winning gold medals.

Zinfandel is a fun and versatile wine to pair with food. Fire up the grill and throw on some veggies, Italian sausage, spare ribs, brisket, and hamburgers. Barbecue sauce or seasonings like black pepper, basil, thyme, Italian parsley, bay leaf and fennel make a nice compliment. Counter intuitively, try pairing with turkey, duck, quail, pheasant, chicken, seafood stews and soups, as well as seared or grilled fish. Zinfandel works very well with Greek and Hispanic cuisines too!
About the Winery
Tonti Family WinesIt was a business deal that included Portuguese corks, of all things, that finally gave Peter Tonti the push he needed to follow a longtime dream. Peter's father was from the old country, and it was part of the Italian culture to make wine in the basement. Assisting in the winemaking process and being allowed to sip small amounts of wine as a child was the start of his dream to be just like dad.Learn more
