Tasting Notes:
This wine displays a richness in the glass, with its opaque, deep garnet color. Showing some characteristics more commonly associated with Bordeaux rather than California, you’ll find notes of earthy, forest floor, dried herbs and cedar intermingling with dark cherry, black currant and pepper. Subtle hints of toasted vanilla, licorice and balsamic show off the depth of this wine. The higher acidity and fine-grained tannins lends itself to food, and compliment the wine’s medium-long finish.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
A very special wine deserves a thoughtful dinner pairing. Pair with meat dishes such as marinated rib eye steak, slow cooked braised short ribs or Châteaubriand. On the lighter side, compliment this wine with Portabella mushroom truffle risotto, charred Gruyere bison burger or wild mushroom stroganoff. Take your time and savor every last sip!
