Tasting Notes:
The grapes for this Pinot Noir were grown in gravelly loam soil, which contributes to background notes of earthiness in the wine. The fruit was hand-picked and aged in 1-2 year French oak. Like a simple mathematical formula, this wine takes aromas and flavors of black cherries, adds them to plum, plus dried strawberries then divides by violet and herbal notes. A beautiful ruby in color, this wine is still young and will benefit from aging. To enjoy now, decant to multiply the nuances of freshly picked cherries, strawberry jam and soft floral notes.

About the Vineyard:
The grapes for this wine were sourced from Windsor Oaks Vineyards, which has produced a number of award winning wines and is unique in that it is positioned in three important American Viticultural Areas, or AVAs: Sonoma Coast AVA, Chalk Hill AVA and Russian River Valley AVA. Each of these unique AVAs offers different nuances to grapes grown there. The grapes of Simple Math Cellars Pinot Noir were sourced 100% from hillside vines in the Russian River Valley section of the property, which is the most ideal growing location for Pinot Noir. The hillside offers the fruit the most optimal conditions for sun, soil and climate, which ensures the fruit reaches its highest potential in flavor and balance.
