Tasting Notes:

This wine has us really excited for warm weather and the summer grilling that goes with it! A bold wine, it is nearly opaque with a beautiful, deep garnet color. Thick, slow moving legs are an indicator of the substantial body and alcohol in the bottle. Allow 30-45 minutes to decant – you’ll be glad you did! Rich aromas of sweet blueberry pie are complimented by bakeshop spices of nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. Layers of chocolate-covered dark cherry, anise and sweet toasted oak are present. Dark fruit, bakeshop spices and chocolate follow through on the spicy palate. This Zin’s higher acidity and softly coating tannins will nicely compliment all of your grilled steaks, sausages and brats. Enjoy!

Food Pairing Suggestions:
Meat lovers, this Zinfandel is for you! Big and bold with prominent acidity and tannin, Zinfandel can stand up to meat dishes for a perfect balance of flavors. Try this wine with grilled NY Strip, BBQ pork ribs, brisket, roast leg of lamb and Italian sausage. Also try tomato-based pasta dishes like lasagna, spaghetti and vegetarian chili. Experiment with cheeses such as Parmesan, aged Cheddar or Gouda, Asiago or Pepper Jack. Have a favorite Zin and food pairing?
