Tasting Notes:
Glimmering and translucent, this pale, ruby red Pinot Noir is delicate in appearance and body. The nose offers beautifully integrated, soft aromas of cranberry, fresh raspberry and black cherry, with hints of bakeshop spice and a subtle kiss of sweet oak. On the palate it is quite silky, with a gentle coating of tannins and a delightful, balanced acidity. This finish is soft, but lingering. Such an approachable wine, this is a perfect sipper for the upcoming Spring weather!

Food Pairing Suggestions:
With its lighter body and clean acidity, Pinot Noir makes for a versatile complement to many meals. Pair this wine with duck, lamb, chicken and turkey. Also try meatier fish, lighter pasta dishes and vegetarian items such as white pizza. Cheeses including Edam, Gouda, Gruyere, light Cheddars and Chevre will make a beautiful cheese plate pairing. Pech Merle suggests this recipe idea: Cayenne cinnamon ribs with a bandy and maple glaze served over pineapple cilantro salad. About the Winery
Pech Merle Winery In 2007, Founders Bruce and Cheryl Lawton were inspired by a pre-historic cave visit in the Lot River Valley of France known as “Pech Merle”, or "Cave Under The Hill". Pronounced “pesh-mael”, this authentic gallery of prehistoric art dating back 25,000 years BC would lead them and Creative Director Ivy Rose Hutton to create a brand that would be cool, unique and emotional, just like their visit to the caves.
