Tasting Notes:
This gorgeous wine is the perfect gift for the wine lovers in your life. An intriguing deep ruby color, opaque at the core and pale ruby at the rim, this Syrah is elegant, expressive and, while highly enjoyable now, has excellent potential to improve with age. Layer after layer of aromas evoke blueberries, blackberries, licorice, gamey notes and damp earth followed by black tea, herbs, nuances of purple flowers and stony minerality. On the palate this complex wine has amazing balance, with high tannin and acid levels and a full body, making it excellent to pair with food. Flavors of plush blue and black fruit blend with tobacco, mocha and espresso. We recommend the purchase of several bottles; decant one bottle to enjoy now and hold others for several years to enjoy the evolution of this stunning Syrah. After a few sips you’ll immediately understand why highly acclaimed wine magazines Wine Enthusiast and The Rhone Report give this wine such a prestigious ranking.

About the Vineyard:
The winemakers at Olson Ogden require the growers they work with to not only produce exceptional fruit, but also to practice organic or biodynamic farming. They seek out farmers who are equally as passionate about creating excellent wines in the most natural way possible. The Unti Vineyards are a perfect example of this. Comprised of alluvial clay loam soils that are well draining, these vineyards have been farmed biodynamically since 2004. The wine made from grapes grown in the Unti Vineyards typically have a distinct minerality with depth and complexity. This small, family owned and operated vineyard relies on both traditional and modern farming techniques and technologies. Led by Vineyard Manager Levi Glen in conjunction with George Unti, these experts are dedicated to growing the best possible grapes so exceptional wines may be created from them.
