Region: Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, CA
Nalle Winery, 2014 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Henderlong Ranch, Dry Creek Valley
Cabernet-dominant with the addition of 25% Merlot, this wine was styled with the Left Bank Bordeaux's Chateau Margaux in mind and certainly shows off a sense of place. Old World-inspired, the wine is medium in body with a translucent, shimmering ruby color. Aromas are nuanced and layered, with wild blackberries and tart cherry dotted with notes of incense, smoked oak and graphite. Zesty on the palate, with a delightful, mouthwatering acidity, oak-tinged berry and vanilla extract flavors and a soft kiss of tannins leading to a lingering, fresh finish.
