Tasting Notes:

We like to bring attention to the importance of growing locations and this is another great example of its importance. The vineyard selection for this Zinfandel is specifically chosen because of the lineage of the Nichelini family in the Chiles Valley. They are 5th generation grape growers and know a thing or two about growing the best grapes.

A medium to deep ruby red in color, this Zinfandel presents on the nose with cherry cobbler, black licorice and dried herbs. More bold than jammy, the flavors evolve from spiced currants and tart cherry to black pepper, cigar box and fall leaves. With soft tannins throughout, it finishes savory and clean.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
Spicy, bold and fruit-driven, this lovely Zinfandel is a perfect solo sipper and also pairs beautifully with rich meat dishes, adding a perfect balance of flavors. Try with BBQ pork ribs, grilled NY Strip, roast leg of lamb, Italian sausage, venison and brisket. Also experiment with tomato based pasta dishes such as lasagna or spaghetti, beef stew or chili and cheeses such as Parmesan, aged Cheddar or Gouda, Asiago or Pepper Jack.
