Tasting Notes:

Coombsville fruit never ceases to amaze and this one is evolving beautifully. Purchase a few bottles; one to taste now, and more to taste as the years pass. Watching the evolution of the wine is part of its magic.

Still beautifully deep red/purple in color, this wine is a sight for sore wine-lovers eyes. The color, along with its 30 months of French Oak barrel aging before bottling, gives clues as to what one might encounter with this intense glass of wine. On the nose and palate there are still signs of youth as bold, black fruit and cola envelope the taster. Enjoy also hints of vanilla and clove from the oak aging. The finish is long, balanced and lingering, a reminder to take another sip.

About the Winemaker:
About the Vineyard:

The grapes for the 2010 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon were grown in Maroon Wines’ Hagen Road Estate, an area proving to be the perfect spot for growing Cabernet Sauvignon and creating wine that is complex, well balanced and elegant. This is partially attributed to the Coombsville AVA micro-climate. Its slightly cooler temperatures allow the grapes to hang longer than in other areas, giving them time to fully ripen before harvest.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
This bold, elegant wine needs a dish that can stand up to its full body. Steak, grilled pork, hamburgers, mushroom dishes and pasta with meaty red sauce are all good pairings. Hard cheeses pair especially well with Cabernet, especially aged Gouda and Parmesan. For dessert, try some dark chocolate.
