Tasting Notes:
Young as it may be, this wine is tasting beautifully now and definitely a wine to watch, and taste, as it evolves with age.
In the glass, this wine appears rich and dense with a purple hue. The nose is delightful with black and blue fruits, mocha, eucalyptus and bakeshop spice. The palate is intense and bold with a full mouthfeel. Savor black cherry, black currants, clove, anise and dark chocolate. Good to the last drop, with hints of vanilla on the finish.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
Young Cabernet Sauvignon with power and muscle pairs incredibly well with fattier cuts of meat because of the tannins. With this Cabernet Sauvignon, pair with ribeye, New York strip, and skirt steak. In addition, pasta with meat sauce, lamb, hamburgers and mushroom dishes work nicely. Serve also with hard aged cheeses like aged Gouda and Parmesan. Rich chocolate desserts create a decadent pairing.
About the Winery
Maldonado Vineyards
Nearly fifty years ago, Lupe Maldonado was living in a small farming community in Michoacán, Mexico. After moving to California, Lupe began working in the vineyards of Napa Valley. He made a name for himself in the valley as a hard, dedicated worker and was invited to join the team at a new winery, Newton Vineyard.
