Region: Mendocino County, CA
This lush and complex wine is from the lesser known but quickly rising Anderson Valley, home to coastal vineyards producing world-class Pinot Noir. Buttressed along its western edge by the Pacific Ocean, this unique climate makes it an ideal growing region for the most finicky of grapes. With warmer days and shiver-inducing nights, great acidity is almost guaranteed.
This wine shows an abundance of fruit and spice on the nose along with floral notes. Bakeshop spices lead the way on the palate followed by plum, black cherry and boysenberry. Well integrated flavors of violets, forest floor and cinnamon weave in. The tremendous acidity perfectly balances the alcohol and allows for a desirable savory finish.
