Tasting Notes:

A striking dark garnet, with a deep core leading to dark ruby edges. Balanced and delicate on the nose, with teasing aromas of tart, wild blackberry and plum complimented by dried herbs, pencil lead and subtle notes of vanilla extract, cedar, cinnamon/clove bakeshop spice and a kiss of licorice. Medium in body, the wine is soft and supple on the mid-palate, with fine-grained tannins and a refreshing acidity on the finish. A beautiful, elegant wine for your holiday festivities!

Jason Moore

About the Winemaker:
Winemaker Jason Moore discovered his passion for wine while working in various fine dining establishments in Dallas, Texas. He and his wife Angelica decided to make the move to California in 2002, where Jason could pursue this dream. Learning from famed Napa mentors while testing his skills in a garage, he quickly accepted a management opportunity at a winemaking facility in 2006 followed by his own label, Modus Operandi. Jason has since been named one of the top five new young winemakers by Sommelier Journal. He has received numerous 93+ point scores from The Wine Advocate, and his wine has been served at a White House State Dinner.

Belles Filles Vineyard

About the Vineyard:
The 1-acre estate vineyard is located in the cooler climate AVA of Coombsville. Belles Filles means "Beautiful Daughters", and was named in honor of Founders Sue and Robert McNerney’s three girls.
Additional Winemaker Notes:
Aged 24 months in 30% new French Oak, 70% in 1 year-old French Oak

Silver Medal, New York Finger Lakes International Wine Competition (2016)

Food Pairing Suggestions:
The climate and soils in the Coombsville AVA produce wines that are favorable for food. Pair with duck, beef, pasta with meat sauce, lamb, hamburgers and mushroom dishes. Serve also with hard aged cheeses like Parmesan and aged gouda.
About the Winery
Le Chanceux Robert and Susan McNerney (a self-proclaimed francophile), moved to the Napa Valley and planted Cabernet Sauvignon vines on their estate property in 2002. Le Chanceux, pronounced luh shuhn sue, is rooted in family from the winery name, to the vineyard, and also to the wine itself. Le Chanceux means "The Lucky One"; a reminder to their three daughters, Lauren, Ellen and Jennifer, how lucky they were to be blessed to live in the beautiful Napa Valley, a destination where world class wines are produced.
