Tasting Notes:
A dark, ruby red to deep violet in color. Beautiful, soaring aromas of ripe blue and black fruit with a subtle background of slightly roasted oak along with dark chocolate, licorice and cinnamon lifted by a floral element. Mouth filling, exotic flavors are an irresistible combination of sweet brambly fruit, concentrated ripe blackberries, dark plums, tobacco and mocha. On the palate, the wine is round, expansive and full-bodied with the stuffing to support its big, dusty tannins. The wine possesses a layered mouth feel, balance, great power and very fine acidity which rounds out the flavorful and wonderfully long finish. This is a very stylish wine with great fruit, elegance and complexity. Winemaker Mark Herold believes that the 2006 Kamen Cabernet Sauvignon will drink well for 15 to 20 years or more.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
A big, bold, complex wine like this needs a dish that can stand up to its full body. Steak, grilled pork, hamburgers and pasta with meaty red sauce are all good pairings. Hard cheeses pair especially well with Cabernet, like aged Gouda and mild Blue cheeses.
About the Winery
Kamen Estate Wines In 1980, Robert Kamen, the screenwriter of such films as Taps, The Karate Kid series, The Fifth Element, A Walk in the Clouds, The Transporter series and Taken, purchased 280 acres of the southwestern slopes of the Mayacamas Range in Sonoma County. This remote mountainous property was rugged, overgrown and extremely rocky: virgin territory with no roads or power. It was isolated, wild, beautiful and full of potential. Learn more
