Tasting Notes:
With a ruby red to slightly purple color, this Spring Mountain wine opens with a big bouquet of boysenberry, cherry, sweet tobacco and clove. Intense and bold are flavors of currant, plum, blackberry and black tea with a hint of lavender. The palate transitions to smooth tannins accompanied by leather, dark chocolate, and a dusty earth finish.

About the Vineyard:
What started out as a weekend getaway to wine country suddenly became a dream come true in 1997. Perry and Carolyn Butler opened Juslyn Vineyards as a return to the land and a transition away from the corporate world. Juslyn Vineyards' idyllic location on Spring Mountain in Napa allows the Butlers to make incredibly complex and structured wines and satisfy their philanthropic hearts at the same time. Juslyn Vineyards has a rich and deep charitable philosophy as they give a large portion of wine profits to meaningful causes.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
Bold red blends like this Bordeaux-style wine deserve big, bold foods. Pair with beef, especially grilled, roasted or stewed, or braised dishes like lamb or venison. Game meats all pair wonderfully with this wine as do dishes with eggplant, mushrooms or pungent herbs. Also pair hard aromatic cheeses like Roquefort, Blue and Camembert varietals. Try also with dark chocolate, 75% cocoa or higher.
