Tasting Notes:

Spring has sprung! And that means it is time for rosé. Perfect for any spring and summer activity, this elegant, delicious and delicate pink wine will surely lift the spirits of all who imbibe.

Jessup Cellars considers themselves fortunate to have access to prestigious Truchard Vineyards Pinot Noir grapes to make this outstanding rosé. It is a limited production and Cellar Angels was granted rare access to a small quantity for its members.

Pronounced on the nose and the palate is fresh picked strawberries. A delightfully delicate and dry wine, it shows refreshing flavors of watermelon jolly rancher, crisp acidity and a tad of minerality. The finish is elegant and pleasing. Serve well chilled and with light, warm-weather fare.

About the grapes:

Drinking rosé is unlike any other wine drinking experience. In part because the wine is uniquely made from red wine grapes and skillfully designed by winemakers to extract just the right amount of color and flavor from the skins into the juice. Another reason for rosé's distinctiveness is it's origin and versatility. Provence, located in the South of France, is the most famous rosé region in the world. Time stops in Provence while wine drinkers enjoy wine with lunch or dinner, friends or colleagues, at the water's edge or in the backyard.

Americans tend to confuse rosé with white zinfandel or blush. This is not your mother's sweet pink wine. Rosé is dry, elegant and aromatic. It is refreshing, fruity and extremely food friendly. So grab a bottle, call some good friends and immerse yourself in the moment. Like the French say, Joie de vivre!

Food Pairing Suggestions:
While certainly enjoyable on its own, this rosé comes alive with a wide variety of foods. As summer approaches, focus on lighter dishes, appetizers, fish and shellfish. Young cheeses like goat, Feta or Swiss are beautiful pairings. In particular, serve with salads, charcuterie, light vegetarian dishes and fruit.
