Tasting Notes:

Have you heard of Dutton Ranch’s sustainably-farmed Goldridge (“moon dust”) soil? Here’s your chance to experience it! Goldridge, with its excellent drainage and low yields, is known for producing premium grapes and Chardonnay with intense fruit and citrusy notes. For the “terroir geeks”, it’s a fine sandy loam with tiny gold flecks – aka moon dust!

Note: If you’ve stored this wine in the refrigerator, please pull it out for 20-30 minutes and aerate before enjoying – you’ll get so much more out of the wine!

This wine dazzles with its shiny, transparent, pale golden color. Quite aromatic. Citrusy, oaky and orange vanilla creamsicle come to mind, with layers of crisp gold apple, wet stone and nutmeg as the wine opens. Medium in body, creamy, but not too heavy on the palate, this wine’s prominent acidity leading to a zesty, refreshing finish wrapped in citrus and caramelized oak. A showstopper bottle, each is hand waxed – a really nice gift bottle!

About the Winery
Jax Vineyards This family owned and operated vineyard was purchased by David Jackson in 1996. The family sold grapes to other producers for many years until they started producing their own outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon from their prime Calistoga land. Calistoga would later become its own AVA (American Viticultural Area), now famous for its unique terroir-driven Cabernet Sauvignon. With the help of Kirk Venge, a renowned Napa Valley winemaker and one of the "top 26 winemakers in the world", Jax Vineyards now produces many different wine varieties and blends to satisfy all palates.
