This exceptional Burgundian style Pinot Noir is drinking so beautiful right now, it should be in every wine enthusiast's cellar. This particular Pinot Noir was added to the Jax Vineyards' portfolio just two years ago by President/CEO and Certified Sommelier, Dan Parrott. A long-time Pinot enthusiast, Dan hand-selected vineyard blocks for this very special bottle of wine from the most supreme Pinot Noir locations in Russian River Valley.
Pinot Noir should be detailed, elegant and lively and the Y3 2014 is certainly that. Pleasing to nearly every palate, this wine possesses wild berry fruit, dried currant and fresh cut strawberry. If a wine could taste like red silk, this would be it. Bottled unfiltered and unfined, enjoy to 2020 and beyond.
The Y3 label of Jax Vineyards is a tip of the hat to previous Jackson generations. Y3 was the cattle symbol used on the family's ranch, Yarrayne, two generations ago.
To remain true to the family's commitment of responsible farming, the Y3 Pinot Noir is sourced from sustainably farmed, pristine vineyards in Russian River Valley. In addition to ideal grape growing locations, the Y3 Pinot Noir is a careful combination of 667 and Pommard clone grapes. The clone blend works in symphony, as the 667 grapes give the wine structure and persistence and the Pommard clone fills in the palate with pure, dark fruit flavors.
