From our "Front Yard" 100+ year old vines, I can always pick this wine our blind because of its distinctive nose of bay and cardamom.
Growing conditions in 2016 were better than average thanks to a solid amount of precipitation during the early winter, followed by an early spring with moderately warm weather consistent throughout the entire growing season. This leant itself to an early harvest and what I would call a "fruit forward" vintage.
You'll find concentrated flavors of cassis and boysenberry integrated with our vineyard;s signature notes of bay, cardamom, clove and white pepper.

Like many winemakers in northern California, winemaking is in Jon’s blood. His great-grandparents owned vineyards in the early 1900’s in San Martin, California. In 2001 Barbara and Jon purchased 4.5 acres of vineyards in Sonoma County and in 2002 expanded to contract with another winery so they could produce their first commercial wines. In June of 2003 they officially released their first vintage, with production around 500 barrels. In more recent years they have continued to expand and grow, opening a tasting room and offering daily tours.
This wine is unfiltered.
