Tasting Notes:

Jon Phillips is indeed an inspiration. He has built a wine business from the ground up and allows his passion to come through in every bottle of wine. For our Angels who took advantage of Inspiration Vineyards 2010 Cabernet last year, you'll discover even more complexity and elegance in this vintage.

A beautifully aromatic nose greets you as sweet red fruit spills from the glass. The bouquet is enhanced by eucalyptus, baking spices, vanilla and cedar. Flavors of spiced blackberry jam explode in the mouth followed by vanilla notes and hints of tobacco leaf. The tannins are soft and effortlessly showcase a long, elegant finish.

Winemaker:

Jon Phillips

About the Winemaker:

Born from a dream and a mid-life career change, Inspiration Vineyards was created in 2002. Jon Phillips' passion for wine, however, dates back much further to his grandparents who made wine in the early 1900's. For years, Jon was determined to break into the wine business by working weekends in tasting rooms, teaching wine classes and ultimately enrolling in a class at UC Davis in Enology and Viticulture.  Shortly thereafter Jon made his first barrel of wine, a Zinfandel.

Increasing demand and a wider portfolio of wines forced Inspiration Vineyards to grow and move to its current location in 2009. A visit to Inspiration Vineyards these days greets you with a quaint little yellow house on a vineyard and hospitality of the nicest people around. A friendly winery dog may welcome you as well!

Food Pairing Suggestions:
Specifically made in the Bordeaux style, this wine is meant to go with food. Pair with duck, beef, pasta with meat sauce, lamb, hamburgers and mushroom dishes. Serve also with hard aged cheeses like aged Gouda and Parmesan. And for dessert, pair with your favorite chocolate creation.
