Tasting Notes:

The splendor of summer can often be experienced in a bottle of wine. In Bordeaux, white blends are predominately Sauvignon Blanc, but are often blended with a touch of Semillon for depth, character and complexity. Here is an exquisite Napa version of Bordeaux's summer classic.

With 3% Semillon and a kiss of oak aging, this perfectly balanced Sauvignon Blanc is a super summer sipper. It is a gorgeous bright pale yellow color with aromas of citrus, melon, minerality and hints of vanilla. The palate is lively with thirst-quenching acidity showcasing lemon, green apple, orange blossom and notes of honey. The finish is soft, balanced and oh so refreshing.

About the Winemaker:
About the Vineyard:
Dalla Gasperina Vineyard, located in the heart of Napa Valley in Rutherford, has a mosaic of gravelly loam and sand soils along with volcanic and marine sediments that provide excellent drainage.
Additional Winemaker Notes:
67% of the Sauvignon Blanc was fermented in neutral oak barrels. The remainder in stainless steel.
The two wines were then combined and aged in 50% new French oak barrels for 15 months.
In constant contact with the lees, they were stirred every 2-3 days for 10 months, adding depth and flavor.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
Summer makes us think of the pool, the back deck, barbecues in the park, and of course Sauvignon Blanc. The crisp acidity goes so well with the lighter fare associated with warm weather meals. Salads, lighter fish and shell fish come to mind, but this wine also can pair with chicken or turkey. Vegetables also pair extremely well. Try heirloom tomatoes, grilled artichokes and sautéed summer squash. Try with spicy food as well, as the acidity can temper the heat. Finally, the cheese. Pair with goat, feta and parmesan for a delightful complement of acidity with saltiness.
