Tasting Notes:
In their Amerital blend, Goosecross embraces their “rebellious” style of winemaking, bringing New World and Old World together with Cabernet from Rutherford and Sangiovese sourced from Atlas Peak. A deep, bright ruby in color, this unique blend shows off a depth of aromas; ripe red cherry, bakeshop spice, wild blackberry, fig, forest floor, dried orange peel and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, spicy white pepper notes, black fruit and subtle oak notes, with a prominent acidity and a soft coating of tannins lead to a memorable, lingering finish.

Winemaker:
About the Winemaker:
Leading the winemaking team, Bill Nancarrow brings a wealth of experience making wines in regions throughout the world. He and his team are continuing the approachable, balanced style of Goosecross wines, while introducing bold new varietals and blends to the portfolio. His goal is to craft wines which show true varietal character by staying focused on the basics – sustainable farming with attention, care and diligence in the cellar.
Vineyard:
About the Vineyard:
The iconic Goosecross State Lane vineyards provide the Cabernet Sauvignon with its rich, balanced and nuanced dark fruit notes. For Sangiovese, the winery chose a vineyard located in the eastern hills on Atlas Peak, which emphasizes the blue fruit notes and spice characteristics that have made Italian Brunello’s and Chianti’s so popular.
Additional Winemaker Notes:
Goosecross' mission is to produce wines of varietal character, sense of place, sustainable farming methods and diligence in the cellar.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
Try this delectable red blend with pepperoni or sausage pizza, vegetarian lasagna, roast chicken, pork tenderloin - or your favorite burger. Will work with a range of medium to hard cheeses as well. Or relax, sip and savor on its own!
About the Winery
Goosecross A quintessential boutique winery with its beginnings in the 1970s, the next chapter of Napa Valley's Goosecross Cellars – named for the pair of geese that made the estate their home – is now being written by CEO and Vintner, Christi Coors Ficeli. Exactly how does a gal from one of America’s foremost beer families end up making wine in Napa Valley? Simply put, Christi and her husband actually met while working at a winery (Gallo). They decided one day they wanted to live in Napa Valley full time, raise a family and be a part of the community with which they fell in love. And they did just that! Learn more
