Tasting Notes:

If you were one of the fortunate few to purchase the 2012 Gallegos Wines Chardonnay last year, your requests have been heard. Although they make this wine in very limited quantities, Gallegos Wines is making a few cases of the 2013 vintage available to Cellar Angels' members. Procure your bottles now while supplies are available.

This classic chardonnay opens up with aromas of crisp apple, pear, mango and a hint of fresh cut pineapple. The layers of flavor are accented with a sparkling minerality and balanced acidity. The finish turns soft and delicate with notes of luxurious créme brûlée. Crisp, yet creamy, this chardonnay epitomizes the best of both worlds. Enjoy this traditional handcrafted wine paired best with good food, family and friends.

Ignacio Gallegos, Jr. - Winemaker

Ignacio Gallegos, III - Vineyard Manager

Eric Gallegos - Viticulturist

About the Winemaker:
Ignacio and his sons, Ignacio III and Eric have been making wine at home for many years. Ignacio's love for wine and pride for producing quality grapes has inspired the family to open a new chapter in the family business. Owning a vineyard management company for many years, the Gallegos family now follows the vines in ALL steps of wine growing, from pruning the vines in the winter, to hand selecting the fruit at harvest and now winemaking. Their experience and passion stems from the Gallegos family legacy of farming grapes in the Napa Valley since the 1950's. The wines of Gallegos represent the collaboration of their history and highly acclaimed designated vineyard estate selections.
About the Vineyard:
Owned by Ed Beard Jr., Charmer Vineyard is nestled in the heart of Yountville. It is one of the oldest chardonnay producing vineyards in the Napa Valley with the first vines being planted in 1982. This vineyard is special to the Gallegos family as it was planted by Ignacio and his brothers over 30 years ago. This Gallegos Chardonnay is dedicated to the tradition of their Napa Valley History.
Additional Winemaker Notes:
  • Cooperage - 25% new French oak & 75% neutral French oak
  • Fermentation - 25% malolactic fermentation

Food Pairing Suggestions:
Incredibly diverse and food friendly, this wine will pair with a wide variety of foods because of its balanced acidity and multiple flavor nuances. Chicken, whitefish, salmon, and lobster make good pairings. Also consider, chowder, non-beef stews, and cream based dishes. Try also non-beef appetizers, most cheese and risotto. Enjoy experimenting with this wine.
