Dutch Henry Winery 2009 Pinot Noir
Dutch Henry Winery
Region: Mount Veeder, Napa Valley, CA
This elegant Pinot Noir brings to mind the famous quote by Clifton Fadiman, “wine is poetry in a bottle.” Not only is this wine unique because of the high altitude of the vineyards at an elevation of 2500 feet, but because of its incredibly silky expression of fruit. Due to the steep terrain of this AVA (American Viticulture Area), all the grapes are hand-harvested, ensuring the greatest care from the very beginning of the wine’s creation.
A light brick red in color with deeper opacity towards the center, this Pinot has aromas and flavors of bright red fruit such as raspberry and strawberry. This is balanced by notes of cola, clove, vanilla, violets and clarified by a hint of minerality. Moderate in body and tannin with a long, silky finish that lingers on the palate, this memorable wine leaves a lasting impression not soon to be forgotten.
