Tasting Notes:
The light aromas of this very feminine Pinot Noir seduce the nose with a bouquet of raspberry, cherry, plum and blackberry. Hints of black pepper and green Bell pepper linger and blend seamlessly with the faint suggestion of a floral bouquet. Medium in body with moderate tannin and acid levels, this wine coquettishly encourages the taster to enjoy another glass to uncover the secrets of this ladylike Pinot Noir.

About the Winemaker:
About the Vineyard:
The term “fog-eater” in the regional dialect of the valley, Boontling, translates as someone living on the coast, out on the edge at the margin between the land and the sea. This descriptor pays homage to the mentoring influence of the fog on the grapes of the region. Each day, coastal fog from the Pacific Ocean slowly rolls into the grapevine-lined hills of Anderson Valley, cooling the vineyards where the grapes for this subtle, fruity Pinot Noir are grown. The vineyards, Balo and Monument Tree, are prone to a broad diurnal range (the difference between the highest and lowest temperatures of the day). The fog blankets the grapes from the heat of the day, insulating them at the perfect temperature. This has a moderating effect on these delicate grapes that give this wine elegant structure and a fruity personality.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
This highly versatile wine pairs well with a wide variety of foods including poultry, rabbit, pork, veal and game such as venison, elk or buffalo. The lighter body of this Pinot Noir allows it to pair well with seafood such as salmon, tuna or shellfish. Pasta dishes, vegetarian items and creamy cheeses are also perfect matches.
