Cellar Angels welcomes back Delgadillo Cellars as they allocate a very few cases of their 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon to our members. If you enjoyed the 2006 during the last Delgadillo Cellars feature, now is your chance to build upon that vertical collection! When you order, Ignacio Delgadillo asks that you choose SOC-F as your charity selection. A cause near and dear to him, SOC-F raises money to assist the families of fallen special operations military units.
With such limited production, Delgadillo Cellars allocates their wine exclusively to their base, until now. In honor of raising funds for charity, the winery has set aside ONLY 5 CASES of the 2009 vintage exclusively for Cellar Angels members. Needless to say, this is a very rare chance to get your hands on a few bottles! With your purchase, Ignacio Delgadillo Jr. will extend you immediate placement on the allocation list.
FIVE vintages of this precious juice have graced our pages, and it only gets better with time. We are honored to introduce the 2009. If you were lucky enough to access some of the 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2006 Delgadillo Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon previously featured on Cellar Angels, open all five and have a vertical tasting!
Each time I open a bottle of Delgadillo Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, I'm transported to a place of discovery. The 2009 vintage did not disappoint. It presents with an intensely dense purple color at the center and crimson around the edges. The journey is most transformative via the nose with aromas of black fruits, sandalwood, tobacco, eucalyptus and notes of mocha and cinnamon. I challenge you to identify more aromas, as it seems to go even deeper. The flavors on the velvety palate consist of black currants, blackberry and black cherry up front and then hints of fig, toffee, cedar and coffee. This wine is impressive year after year as it is made with care and aged to perfection. Enjoy your journey!
