We’ll take it from there and include a hand-written note. A great way to give, and give back at the same time.Aged 36 months in the barrel and an astounding five additional years in the bottle before release, the team at Delgadillo Cellars takes the guesswork out of aging their wine. Each wine, including this delectable gem, is aged a minimum of eight years before release. This expensive undertaking is their way of making sure we enjoy each wine at its peak.
The extra attention to detail is obvious when the first notes of blackberries, blueberries, plums and leather hit the nose. Layered beneath are aromas of mocha, damp earth, eucalyptus, vanilla, clove, cinnamon and toasty oak. On the palate, the tannins are supple, prominent, and are balanced exquisitely by the acid. Flavors of dark fruits meld seamlessly into bakeshop spices, leather and a hint of barnyard. This is a wine that should be enjoyed over time as it continues to reveal new aspects of itself for hours after uncorking.
