Del Dotto Vineyards 2012 Sauvignon Blanc
Del Dotto Vineyards
Region: Sonoma Coast
Here's a rare opportunity to purchase the highest quality Sauvignon Blanc from the newly appointed Ft. Ross-Seaview AVA in Sonoma Coast, specifically, the noteable Cinghiale Vineyard. Adding to the value, this wine is never discounted and only sold at the winery.
While only the second year Del Dotto has produced this single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, it's proving to be an ideal location for this refreshing, mouth-watering, warm weather wine. It is made in a serious style to allow the intensity of the site show through. On the nose you smell Spring with floral notes and citus to tease the palate. The taster is rewarded with complex flavors including lime, poached pear and a slight minerality. This bright and lively wine really over delivers and is perfect for light summer dishes.

After about a decade of campaigning, Ft Ross-Seaview AVA finally received AVA status in 2012. Within the AVA, the “Cinghiale” (Italian for Wild Boar) Vineyard is named for the frequent inhabitants of the property and was purchased by the Del Dottos in 2005. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, it consists of 359 acres at the top of King's Ridge in the Sonoma Coast appellation, and is planted with 43 acres of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Chardonnay.
