Tasting Notes:

A perfect wine for Thanksgiving dinner, for sure. It'll pair well with everything on the menu.

The beautiful reddish-purple hue gives way to aromas that leap from the glass; ripe cherries, plum and violets. The flavors are intense; black cherry, currants, clove, black pepper, with floral and mineral notes. It's complex and provides a long, lingering finish.

"Brilliant ruby-red. Fresh dark berries, cola and rose pastille on the smoke- and mineral-accented nose. Spicy and tightly focused on entry, then more fleshy in the middle, offering gently sweet black raspberry and cola flavors and a spicy topnote that builds with air. Finishes with excellent clarity and thrust, picking up fine-grained tannins that provide focus and gentle grip. Very accessible now, with decanting, but this wine has the depth to age."

About the Vineyard:
Located on Laguna Ridge, in the heart of Russian River Valley, Soul Patch is an estate vineyard that Guy Davis himself planted in 1996. There are many varieties grown in Soul Patch Vineyard, including Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay and Zinfandel. The eastern facing property allows the benefits of gentle sun exposure in the morning, but protection from harsh heat exposure in the afternoon. The soil in Soul Patch vineyard is predominately volcanic witch contributes to the balancing minerality of this Pinot Noir.

Perfect for Thanksgiving, this food-friendly wine pairs well with pork, lamb, chicken and turkey. Also meatier fish, lighter pasta dishes and vegetarian items are good matches. Cheeses such as Edam, Gouda, Gruyere, light Cheddars and Chevre are excellent pairings as well.
