Tasting Notes:
The 2007 Korte Ranch Zinfandel is a very intense wine with aromas of raspberries, blackberries, cardamom and vanilla. The wine is very rich in the mouth with exquisite balance. Flavors of raspberry, vanilla, hints of oak and other spices linger over the long, smooth finish.

About the Winemaker:

Winemaker/owner Duane David Dappan (D-Cubed) says his career as a Napa Valley winemaker began with a 4-H project. Raised in an agricultural family, he and some friends entered the El Dorado County Fair Home Winemaking Competition and received “Best in Show”.

Inspired by his brush with wine making fame, Duane entered the Enology program at University of California, Davis. He spent years developing his craft and building an impressive resume at Grgich Hills, Storybook Mountain, Rombauer Vineyards, and Frank Family Vineyards.

Duane’s philosophy is to not do too much in the cellar, but rather guide the fruit that comes from a well maintained vineyard.

The proof is in the bottle. Taste for yourself!

Food Pairing Suggestions:
This Zinfandel is a meat lover’s wine! Big and bold with high acidity and tannin, Zinfandel can stand up to meat dishes and cut through fat providing a perfect balance of flavors. It pairs beautifully with BBQ pork ribs, roast leg of lamb, steak, Italian sausage, venison and brisket. Also try tomato based pasta dishes such as lasagna or spaghetti, beef stew or chili and cheeses such as Parmesan, aged Cheddar or Gouda, Asiago or Pepper Jack.
About the Winery
D-Cubed got its start in 1994 when several tons of the super-esteemed Black Sears Zinfandel was made available. To many Napa Valley winemakers, fruit from this location is considered Zinfandel Gold! D-Cubed is in good company sourcing Black Sears Zinfandel alongside Ridge Vineyards and Turley Vineyards.
