Tasting Notes:

The goal of James and Mark is to create unique wines unlike any other on the market. Blanchard Family Wines’ showcase terroir and winemaking techniques in this tiny production Pinot Gris. Made only for Generation Rescue and Cellar Angels, you will not find this wine anywhere else!

This light and expressive 2011 Pinot Gris was sourced from the cool and coastal influence of Windsor Oaks Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. On the nose we find aromas of citrus groves and fresh flowers. The palate is filled with complex flavors of peaches and grapefruit, combined with taffy and dried apricots. An elegant mouth feel with a pleasant acidic touch compliments the long and tangy finish. This is a refreshing, easy sipping wine perfect to enjoy on a warm day.

Food Pairing Suggestions:
Enjoy this wine with light seafood, roasted poultry, pâté, creamy pastas or risotto dishes. Cheese pairings such as Asiago Fresco, Feta, Mozzarella or Muenster work well with this wine. Also try Cheddars of various styles such as mild, sharp or smoked to see how each promotes subtle nuances in the wine.
About the Winery
Blanchard Family Wines Growing up in Peoria, Illinois, James and Mark were as close as any two brothers could be and were often referred to as the Blanchard boys. However, as they grew into adulthood, differences of opinion and ideology drew them apart. James, the elder brother, went into the Air Force and became a military officer and helicopter pilot who served two tours in Iraq. Mark studied poetry and creative writing, focusing on authors who had protested the Vietnam War. Learn more
